Sinopse

Eighty years after the book was published, I’m especially interested in enquiring who are the new captains of thesands, drawing inspiration from the social reality of these children, and being aware that endings aren’t always happy. Who are these marginalised people, and when do they start being so? In collaboration with Joana Craveiro, grounded in an idea of documentary theatre, this project is based on the work carried out with youngsters deprived of education, food, tenderness, a father, a mother; youngsters who committed crimes; youngsters who started out or ended up with less for reasons often having nothing to do with them. — Victor Hugo Pontes

Victor Hugo Pontes was born in Guimarães, in 1978. He has a degree in visual arts (painting) from the University of Porto. In 2001, he attended the Norwich School of Art and Design, in England.
