Sinopse

POPULAR is a challenge show based on the self-fiction that the creator and performer mwants to be a popular artist, challenging the standards of the cultural scene and the popular universe by merging the two. The proposal uses the friction between elite and mass culture to think about the public as a collective and the social divisions that this tension can reflect. Between biography and research, this creation leads to a questioning of other concepts that belong to the same lexical family as the word “popular”, such as popularity, pop and populism.
At the end of POPULAR there will always be the question of whether she could have been popular or not. — Sara Inês Gigante
