Sinopse
Examples of this are “Movement on Movement” (a performance focusing on the gestures that explain or comment on other movements), “Removing” (where the perception of goal-oriented actions such as hitting, avoiding, throwing or grabbing was transformed to prevent the audience from recognising such purposes) and “Faits et gestes” [Deeds and Gestures] (presented in the scope of Festival DDD – Dias da Dança 2017, its main action point was still those experiments, and it explored paths where gesture could evoke the feeling of executing a given movement). In this new performance, the intention is to extend that exploration into shapes by which one movement may refer to another: through symbols, hints, schemes, sketches, comments or explanations.
Noé Soulier was born in Paris, in 1987. She attended the National Ballet School of Canada and P.A.R.T.S. (Brussels). Her curriculum includes the pieces “Movement on Movement” (2013), “Movement Materials” (2014), “Removing” (2015) and “Faits et gestes” (2016).
