Sinopse
The programme brings together some of the most iconic films whose cinematography is signed by the Swiss author. It opens with “Sauve qui peut (la vie)”, by Jean-Luc Godard (1980), in his presence. The programme favours the chronological reading of a body of work distinguished by its careful framing and delicate lighting developed over the course of nearly five decades in collaboration with the greatest filmmakers of our time. Aside from Godard, he worked with Alain Tanner, Alain Resnais, Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet, Amos Gitaïand Manoel de Oliveira, among others. Renato Berta received the César Award for Best Cinematography in 1988 for “Au revoir les enfants”, by Louis Malle. The French Cinematheque organised a retrospective of his work in 2011.
