Masterclass Animar o inanimado – da ficção à ação
Micaela Soares e Vítor Gomes / Teatro de Marionetas do Porto
October

Sinopse
Creating for puppet theatre is as challenging as it is stimulating. Each puppet has its own identity; each production has its own specific requirements; and each creation involves a process of research, experimentation and dramaturgical development. In this masterclass, the actress and director Micaela Soares and the puppeteer and creator Vítor Gomes share their experience as creators involved in the dramaturgy and development of puppet theatre productions at the Teatro de Marionetas do Porto. Throughout the session, they will explore what distinguishes writing for conventional theatre from writing for puppet theatre, examine different creative processes and analyse examples of the company’s productions. The practical component will challenge participants to undertake a creative writing exercise, in which they will be invited to bring the inanimate to life and discover how fiction can give rise to stage action. — Teatro de Marionetas do Porto
