Sinopse
A man of the theatre, isolated, fragmented, already without strength, his creative powers in crisis, briefly has the company and unexpected witness of a young woman. This moment is experienced through different moments of disturbance and displacement: an encounter between art, with its sacrifice and violence, and worldly life, full of banal events. In this intimate drama he will find nostalgia, photography, music, Euripides, cuttings from everyday life and the breaking of some canonical agreements.
Luís Mestre (1974) is a playwright, theatre director, translator, resident teacher at Balleteatro Escola Profissional and researcher-collaborator at the Instituto de Literatura Comparada Margarida Losa (ILCML-FLUP). He is studying for a PhD in Artistic Studies at FLUC and has an MA in Theatre Studies from FLUP. He is conducting postgraduate studies in Contemporary Dance at ESMAE-IPP/TMP. He has translated several plays by English and Spanish writers into Portuguese. As a playwright he has received several national and international prizes and awards and is thus currently one of the Portuguese playwrights with most awards. He has published several editions of his dramatic texts in Portuguese, English and Spanish. He has been the artistic director of Teatro Nova Europa since 2004.
