Laura Monteiro da Silva

Laura Monteiro da Silva was born in 2006 and began studying cello at the age of six. She studies at ESMAE with professor Jed Barahal. Having won several competitions, she was a finalist for the Young Musicians Award in the intermediate Chamber Music category. She has participated in several musical projects, such as Novos Música para Nova Música - Reencontros de Música Contemporânea, where she premiered "Laura" by composer Cândido Lima in 2023, and in concerts hosted by the Casa da Música Educational Service. She has played in the Espinho Classical Orchestra with conductors Pedro Neves and Nuno Coelho and with musicians Anastasia Kobekina, China Moses, Wayne Marshall, and Estrella Morente. She was part of American musician Kevin Morby's national tour.
