Sinopse
An ephemeral space for Direct Art, designed to raise awareness of and reveal the artistic potential of human everyday life, to see dialogue as a work of art, and to promote and learn individual and collective creative strategies for a better human life. It is an unexpected encounter that results in an improvised action anticipating life.
Gonçalo M. Tavares has been publishing since 2001 across several literary genres, and his work has been translated into 36 languages. His books received several awards both at home and abroad, of which we highlight the José Saramago Award (2005), the Portugal Telecom Literature Award (Brazil, 2007 and 2011), and the Best Foreign Book Award 2010 (France).
Os Espacialistas [The Spatialists] is a lab project undertaking theoretical and practical research on the links between art and architecture that started working in 2008. It replaces the pencil with a photographic camera as a device used to draw, think, perceive and diagnose both the natural and built space. The Espacialista Diary controls its actions, and the “Portable Espacialista Kit” each carries with him provides assistance.
John Romão is the artistic director of BoCA – Biennial of Contemporary Arts, which places in dialogue artistic territories (performing arts, visual arts, performance and music), cultural facilities (theatres, museums, galleries, and also nightclubs and public places) and audiences. The second edition takes place between March 15 and April 30 in the cities of Lisbon, Porto and Braga simultaneously. Carrying on its partnership with Teatro Municipal do Porto, BoCA puts forward a series of actions on March 30 and 31, such as the debut presentation of “Os Animais e o Dinheiro” [Animals and Money], a lecture-performance by Gonçalo M. Tavares & Os Espacialistas that makes the audience reflect and move; and the world premiere of “Rosa. Espinho. Dureza” [Rose. Thorn. Hardness], the first creation for the stage by one of the most promising names in Portuguese contemporary music, drummer Gabriel Ferrandini, who serves us a torrent of energy divided into three acts: Work, Sex and Love. For two days, one experiments with formats, making new creators known, and having established creators facing new approaches to their bodies of work.
