Gonçalo Lélis

In addition to his conservatoire classes, he was taken under Pavel Gomziakov’s wing in 2009. In 2013, he won a place at the prestigious Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia, in Madrid, where he is currently a student of Natalia Shakhovskaya and Ivan Monighetti. He has attended master classes given by such musicians as Natalia Gutman, Heinrich Schiff, Truls Mork, Gary Hoffman, Lluis Claret, Maria de Macedo, Ralph Gothoni and Valentin Erben, amongst others. In 2015, he was awarded first prize at the Young Musicians Competition, in the higher level violoncello category, and he also won the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY) award. He is currently an Albeniz Foundation scholar.
