descobri-quê? is a show that aims to contribute to the decolonisation – as an unfinished, therefore constant and ongoing process – of teaching about the historical period known as the 'discoveries', challenging several official narratives that romanticise this era and seeking a confrontation with Portugal's invasive, expansionist and colonialist past.
This show is the result of a collaboration between Estrutura's creators, Cátia Pinheiro and José Nunes, and the artist, performer and art educator, Dori Nigro. It is a co-production between Estrutura, Teatro Nacional Dona Maria II and Teatro Académico Gil Vicente, and it has already toured nineteen Portuguese municipalities. This project was honoured with the 2024 Access Culture Award – Mickaella Dantas 2024.
