Sinopse
It is a place of entertainment and culture right in the centre of Porto, in the understage of Teatro Rivoli. In those two glamorous nights, a corps de ballet, cunning magicians and even the strongest man from Bonfim—who will present his graceful numbers with plenty of strength and subtle movements—will parade on the small stage. Abelardo will be there to welcome the participants, he who loves this life and doesn’t miss the next one. One should come fully prepared, with money in his pocket and charged batteries, because after midnight one tends to stay until dawn.
Confederação is a theatrical research collective established in Porto in 2010. They mostly focus on four fields of action: creation, research, training and programming. The proximity performances, with their own dramaturgy around popular theatrical forms, inhabit the nerve centre of their theatrical creation and thinking. Following those creative pieces there’s an urgent need for research projects that, aside from focusing on popular theatrical forms, present a strong connection between theatre and moving images. Also in the scope of this field of research, created the collection “Cadernos Hestórico” [Hestorical Notebooks] in 2013, which is used to organise, publish and return to the world in the form of a book part of their objects of research. Those notebooks, designed by Maria João Macedo serve as a bridge between an inner work — that is invisible in nature — carried out by Confederação and the public realm.
