Sinopse

Five stories for all ages to make fun of who we are, and to leave the room in one another’s arms. Theatre director Caroline Bergeron has a degree in fine arts and 10 years of experience with animated forms at Tof Théâtre (Belgium). She decided to return to her first love, and to embrace a double challenge: to create a performance with political content tailored for children aged 3 to 5, and to experiment (aside from puppets and video techniques) with visual languages still scarcely used in her repertoire: light and shadow. The wordless performance was drawn up in subterraneous fashion based on 5 of the 7 deadly sins, and it comprises 5 tales, humorously criticising some of our society’s manias—the obsession for power, money and competition—and turning two sins into virtues—gluttony and sloth.

Caroline Bergeron regularly stages plays for Catarina Molder’s Companhia Ópera do Castelo. She also designs several performances and workshops for Companhia Caótica, combining visual arts, theatre and puppets, having created or directed “King Pai” [King Father], “Sopa Nuvem” [Soup Cloud], “Na Barriga” [In the Belly] and“ A Grande Invasão” [The Great Invasion]. She co-directed Tof Théâtre (Belgium) for 10 years, co-creating and starring in “Camping Sauvage”, “Cabane” and“Patraque”. She recently worked for La Compagnie de L’Échelle (France), curated the À Grande e à Francesa festival in Viseu, and is the director of Companhia Caótica’s festivalfor children in Loulé, where she co-organised two international meetings on creating and programming for children (2015 and 2016).
