11a FESTA DO CINEMA ITALIANO

Teatro Rivoli hosts the closing session of the 11th edition of the festival, screening “Il postino” [The Postman], by Michael Radford (1994). The film is based on the book by the same by Antonio Skármeta, and it describes the friendship between Chilean poet Pablo Neruda and a humble young postman. The story takes place in 1952, when the famous writer Pablo Neruda (Philippe Noiret) is forced to live in exile on a small Italian island for political reasons.
