Saya

Saya is a multipotential artistic force, musical researcher and anti-racist activist. Born in Santiago de Compostela, originally from Palestine and based in Porto, she positions herself on the current scene as a multi-genre DJ, influenced by the various cultural and artistic worlds that surround her. She has played at numerous clubs and festivals in Galicia, as well as at Boiler Room x Sisters of Rave, Spanish venues such as Razzmatazz (Barcelona) and Sala El Sol (Madrid), and venues in Portugal such as Pérola Negra, Hard Club, Casa da Música, Musicbox, Arroz Estúdios, Outra Cena and Art Haus. Most recently, she was present at the Tremor festival and Serralves em Festa, with the debut of the new dj set + live visuals format with artist Bárbara Paixão. Her sessions are marked by roots rhythms, with genres ranging from kuduro to experimental Arabic electronica, gqom, baile & rave funk, deconstructed club and hard drums, among others. A journey that explores sounds from different regions and gives them recognition and visibility of the resistance that exists in these territories and in the diaspora. It creates a space of care and celebration of dissent, reminding us that the anti-racist struggle is also possible through music.
