Mário follows the story and legacy of Mário Pinto de Andrade, one of the founders of the MPLA, a pan-African thinker and activist, whose critical mission in the African liberation movements of the 1960s and 1970s laid the foundation for the identity and representation of African nations newly formed after European colonization. His legacy is obvious in the socioeconomic analysis of modern African affairs, in the search for a proper understanding of the origins of Africa's identity, in his poetry, plays and scripts, and in the memory of his family, friends and disciples, who refer a great deal spirit and rigorous mind, which aroused deep admiration in all those who knew him. A film that director Billy Woodberry, one of the fundamental names of the L.A. Rebellion movement, divided into three chapters (From; With; About Mário de Andrade), punctuated by a long interview with journalist Diana Andringa, with the participation of her daughter Henda Ducado or writer José Eduardo Agualusa, and where we watch great political figures and African culture, among them the director Sarah Maldoror, to whom he was married, Agostinho Neto, Amílcar Cabral, his brother Joaquim Pinto de Andrade, Léopold Senghor, and also the writer James Baldwin.
