Sinopse

In “Jângal”, one has the right to enjoy the chaos, the horror and the urban jungle, as well as the pleasure of browsing, the passivity of a look, what is simply fun and the discovery of another narrative organisation, which tries to listen to objects, dragons, underground minerals and zombies. It is as usual as Gisela João engaging in a dialogue with a fan instead of singing the “Senhor Extraterrestre” [Mister Alien] fado, or a fire breathing dragon being on stage alongside a snowman, or chattering the washing machine’s cycle: a relation to reality that gets in the narrative line of thought of repeatedly opening windows in one’s browser, collecting gifs on the desktop and bringing forth the online lingua franca.

Teatro Praga was established in 1995, and it is based at Rua das Gaivotas, Lisbon. It regularly collaborates with some of the most prestigious cultural structures in Portugal and has performed in several European festivals and theatres (in Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, Hungary, Slovenia, Estonia, Denmark and Poland), as well as in Israel and China.
