Sinopse
Drawing inspiration from the revolutionary movements of the time, some Portuguese youths—bourgeois, urban and literate—decide to quit their studies or first jobs and head straight to the factories and the fields to carry out the “cultural revolution”. “A tecedeira que lia Zola” [The Weaver Who Read Zola] is the second instalment of TEP’s Youth Yrilogy, which focus, respectively, in the 1950s, 70s and 90s in Portugal.
Teatro Experimental do Porto (TEP) is the oldest theatre company in Portugal and a forerunner of modern theatre. Its first performance premiered in 1953 under the artistic direction of António Pedro. In 2012, Gonçalo Amorim, theatre director in residence since 2010, took on the role of artistic director.
