Sinopse
The musical score created by pianist, composer and orchestrator Filipe Raposo is the starting point for this performance, awakening an idea of staging/atmosphere, and consequently a text. Performed live by the Orquestra Académica Metropolitana under the direction of maestro Cesário Costa, this piece is the result of experimenting with the 33 musicians and with the voices of the 6 actresses on stage, thus creating an ambience of a dreamlike forest drawing inspiration from the theatre of the absurd and horror films. Three young women who represent strongly pronounced ambitions in society break up into another three characters through spoken and sung text, which is filled with metaphors and more or less traditional tales.
Ricardo Neves-Neves has a degree in theatre from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (ESTC), and a master’s degree in theatre studies from the University of Lisbon. He participated in Obrador d’Estíu (playwriting) in Barcelona with Simon Stephens. He is the artistic director of Teatro do Eléctrico, writing and staging for the company. He directed plays by Edward Albee, Karl Valentin, Copi, Spiro Scimone, Martin Crimp, Rousseau and Mozart. His plays have been staged by Mónica Garnel, Sandra Faleiro, Ana Lázaro and Paula Sousa. He has published plays with Cotovia/Artistas Unidos, Teatro Nacional D. Maria II and Companhia das Ilhas. He wrote and co-directed the play “Floating Island”, which was presented at Théâtre de la Ville and the Taipei Arts Festival. He taught at the ESTC and at ACT. He collaborated with Artistas Unidos, Teatro da Terra, Primeiros Sintomas, Teatroesfera, Teatro Meridional, Casa Conveniente, Teatro dos Aloés and Comédias do Minho, among others.
Filipe Raposo is a pianist, composer and orchestrator. He started studying piano at the Lisbon National Conservatory. He has a master’s degree in performance, jazz from the Royal College of Music (Stockholm), and he received a scholarship from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. He has performed and recorded alongside some of the leading names in the Portuguese music scene, such as Sérgio Godinho, José Mário Branco, Fausto, Vitorino, Janita Salomé, Amélia Muge, Camané, Carminho and Maria João. As an orchestrator and pianist, he has collaborated with numerous European orchestras, like the Lisbon Sinfonieta Orchestra, the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan Orchestra, the Beiras Philharmonic Orchestra, the Madeira Classical Orchestra, the South Orchestra and the Thueringen Symphony Orchestra, among many others. He’s currently working with the recently established digital record label Lugre Records as its jazz curator.
